Marksmanship Qualification Process

Alpine Range is now offering a way to qualify for practice drawing and firing from the holster.  The price of attempting the qualifications is $50 but includes the ability to reserve (in one hour blocks) the concealed carry range subject to that range's availability.  The reservation for those who have qualified is free, but the combination range pass fee (currently $29.95) still applies.  All persons entering the range, whether shooting or not, are required to purchase a range pass.

While the qualification process is rigorous it is well within the capabilities of most shooters and will help ensure that only those who can be safe to draw from the holster while on the range are allowed to do so on the concealed carry range ONLY.

Alpine Range Marksmanship Qualification.
Shooter will begin with 3 magazines loaded with 10 rounds each.
Every shot missed or fired after the timer will count as a point reduction from a total of 50 points with a passing grade of 40.


Phase 1

The following 3 exercises will be performed at the 3yd line.

1. From Holster
    Fire 2 rounds to the body. (Par time 3 sec.)

2. From Retention
    Fire 2 rounds to the body 1 round to the head. (Par time 3 sec.)

3. From Low Ready WEAK HAND ONLY
    Fire 2 rounds to the body 1 round to the head. (Par time 4 sec.)

The following 4 exercises will be performed at the 7yd line.

4. From Holster
    Fire 2 rounds to the head, Emergency Reload, 4 rounds to the body. (Par time 8 sec)

5. From Holster STRONG HAND ONLY
    Fire 2 rounds to the body.  (Par time 4 sec.)

6. From Low Ready STRONG HAND ONLY
    Fire 2 rounds to the body, 1 round to the head (Par time 4 sec.)

7. From Low Ready
    Fire 1 round to the head, Reload, 1 to the head. (Par time 6 sec.)

The following 2 exercises will be performed at the 10 yd line.

8. From Holster
   Fire 2 rounds to the body, 1 to the head. (Par time 5 sec.)

9. From High Ready
    Fire 6 rounds to the body. (Par time 4 sec.)


Phase 2

The following 3 exercises will be performed at the 15yd line.

1. From Holster
    Fire 3 rounds to the body. (Par time 5 sec.)
 
2. From Holster
    Fire 2 rounds to the body, Kneel, 2 rounds to body, Tactical Reload, 2 rounds to head. (Par time 15 sec.)

3. From Low Ready, Kneeling
    Fire 2 rounds body,  1 round to head (Par time 5 sec.)

4. Shooter begins facing up range.  From the timer the shooter will safely face the target and fire 4 rounds to the body, reload, fire 4 rounds to the body. (Par time 12 v  sec.)
