Trap

alpinetrapfield.jpg

Trap is also one of the four major disciplines in competitive clay bird shooting.  Created in the UK around 1793 and first shot in the states in 1831. Originally live birds were used with the first artificial birds being used around the civil war. Trap targets all originate from a single location, most commonly a bunker, and fly away from the shooter. Alpine has one regulation trap field. There are 25 targets in a round of trap.
