Skeet is one of the four major disciplines in competitive clay bird shooting. Born in the 1920’s in Massachusetts, Skeet (the Scandinavian word for “shoot”) was developed to help bird hunters practice their shooting in the offseason. All targets are fired from two fixed positions, the high house and the low house, providing the shooter with almost all types of shots they may encounter in the field. There are 25 total targets shot from eight different stations in a round of Skeet.
